Beef Q&A
Do you sell beef portions?
Yes! Fill out the request form located on the “Meat Request” tab on our website. We will call back within 1-2 business days to discuss your request and begin the ordering process.
Is your beef grass fed?
Simple answer: No. Long answer: Our beef is pasture raised, TMR (total mixed ration) fed. Our TMR is mixed with whole stalks of corn, hay, straw, minerals/vitamins, and some sweet molasses. It is chopped into fine pieces, about 1 inch, mixed up and fed fresh daily. We grow and harvest our own crops to feed our boys. We find being pasture raised and TMR feed gives us a perfectly marbled, flavor packed and tender cut of meat.
Do you give the cows antibiotics?
All of our meat is antibiotic free and is inspected by a USDA inspector at the time of harvest. The only time they’re given antibiotics is if they are sick, which is rare. They aren’t vaccinated. No growth hormones or steroids.
Is the TMR you grow for the cows organic and GMO free?
Not organic or GMO free. Corn is sprayed at emergence - meaning a herbicide is applied to the corn field shortly after the corn seedings have emerged from the soil. For fertilizer we use cow manure - a “natural” fertilizer and also considered “regenerative”. Our hay is organic and Redmond real salt is used to preserve our feed.
What kind of beef is it?
Most of the guys we are raising are an angus X holstein cross. This year we will have a wagyu X angus cross. We love the finish on these crosses, and how efficient they are to feed. Some steers are full beef, or full holstein, but I assure you the quality is the same at the final product!
Do you sell locally sourced meat from other farmers?
Yes! We raise the beef. The pork comes from a local farmer, lamb comes from 4H/FFA students, fish is wild caught locally in MI, chicken is from our local processor, and goat is from 4H/FFA/local farmers.
What are your prices?
In today’s fast changing market, our prices tend to change. We try to stay as consistent as possible, some things are out of our control. You will find our estimated portion meat pricing on the “Meat Request” tab on our website or call the store phone.

Do you sell straw?
Yes! We have straw available 24/7 in our roadside stand.
Do you sell raw milk?
No. It is not legal in the state of Michigan to sell raw milk.
Do you accept EBT?
Currently no. We apologize for any inconvenience and are hoping to incorporate this in the company in the near future.
